Dr. Annabelle Rodriguez is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins
University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rodriguez graduated
from New Jersey Medical School, completed an Internal Medicine Residency training
at Thomas Jefferson Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in Endocrinology
and Metabolism at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rodriguez has published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the
area of lipid disorders, diabetes mellitus, and the metabolic syndrome. Her
laboratory has received grants from the National Institutes of Health and other
sources to study various aspects of lipid metabolism. At the present time,
Dr. Rodriguez's laboratory is focusing on understanding the role of the HDL receptor,
SR-BI, in human atherosclerosis and lipid metabolism. She has been awarded
the prestigious Burroughs Wellcome Clinical Translational Award to examine the
role of SR-BI in human female infertility.
Dr. Rodriguez was recently awarded Scientist-of-the-Year by Great Minds in STEM. This prestigious award was presented to Dr. Rodriguez based on her research work and mentoring skills of students and young trainees.
